The Pursuit of Happiness
This is an interview that took place a couple of weeks ago with Dr Richard J Davidson, a neuroscientist who has pioneered research into emotions over the past 35 years, developing a new area known as "affective neuroscience", and who has also carried out high quality research into how meditation affects the brain, the body and behaviour, in part through developing a working collaboration with the Dalai Lama.
It's a really beautiful summary of where the research is at right now into what creates happiness, from a deeply inspiring man.
While I'm not personally an advocate of meditation, I think the way that Dr Davidson approaches neuroscience research questions into love, compassion and well being is amazing, and much can be learned from this.
